Sarah Baum claimed the silver medal in the Women’s division as Team South Africa finished sixth on the final day of the historic ISA China Cup on Hainan Island in China earlier today.

The South African surfing team clinched the bronze medal in the Aloha Cup event at the ISA China Cup on Monday while Sarah Baum won her Round 2 heat to become the only SA surfer who will compete on the final day of first ISA contest to be staged in China.

Nikita Robb and Sarah Baum will fly the flag for the South African surfing team after all four of their male counterparts crashed out of the inaugural ISA China Cup in a disastrous opening day at Riyue Bay on Hainan Island in China on Sunday.

Today’s completion of the opening ceremonies has set the stage for the start of competition in the groundbreaking ISA China Cup, the first event in the Hainan Riyue Bay International Surfing Festival presented by Quiksilver, which gets underway at Wanning on Hainan Island in China on Sunday.
