Women’s Day Surf Challenge 2010
The Women’s Day Surf Challenge 2010 will take place at THREE different venues in THREE different regions on August 8 and Women’s Day August 9.
This unique contest for girls and women is a FIRST in South Africa.

· Women’s Day Surf Challenge, Mobile Cape Town
Women’s Day Surf Challenge, Pollock Beach Port Elizabeth
· Women’s Day Surf Challenge, the Bay in Durban.
DIVISIONS
a. Rookies : girls 14 and younger who have never represented a province at an SA Junior Championships : PRIZES
b. U16 Division: 1A rated PST Event offering R2500 in prize money
c. U20 Pro Junior: 1A rated PST Event offering R2500 in prize money
d. Open Women: 1A rated PST Event offering R2500 in prize money
RULES
• Surfers competing in the Women’s Day Surf Challenge will be entitled to FREE PST membership for the rest of 2010.This is a once off offer from SSA for women who enter this contest.
• Contest entry fee is R30 for Rookies and R50 per division for the U16, U20 & Women.
• Surfers may compete in their own age division and one other division.
• Rookies may only surf in the rookies division
• All entries MUST be completed online at www.surfingsouthafrica.co.za
• At each event funds will be raised and donated to CANSA to assist with research on Breast Cancer.
• All entrants names will be included in a lucky draw and lucky draw prizes will be awarded at each event.
As these Women’s Day Surf Challenge events are being held on National Women’s Day, they will be co-ordinated and run for women by women in surfing.
gSport…for Girls (www.gsport.co.za) and Saltwater Girl Magazine (www.swg.co.za) are Surfing South Africa’s official online media and website / magazine partners respectively.
Funds from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) grant and Sport and Recreation SA will be used to support the three contests.
