Sea Harvest Sisonke Surf Challenge all set for Dairy Beach in Durban this weekend
Nearly 90 surfers will compete in ten Divisions ranging from U12, u14, U16, u18 and Open at the Sea Harvest Sisonke Surf Challenge which takes place at Durban’s Dairy Beach this weekend.
R15000 in prizemoney will be shared among the finalists in each of the divisions in an event that is produced by Surfing South Africa and presented by the Durban based Sisonke Surf Club.
The contest has attracted most of the Province’s best male and female surfers who are hoping to finish 2017 with a bit of cash in their pocket and a medal around their neck.
In order to accommodate all the heats Contest Director Ann Wright has decided to get the contest under way at 7.30am on both days. Although not a South African Surf Tour event, the Sea Harvest Sisonke Surf Challenge has a large chunk of cash attached to it and the surfing will be pretty competitive across the divisions.
Surfing South Africa is the recognized national governing body for the sport and is a member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and the International Surfing Association (ISA).
