Photos Day 1
All the teams for the 28th edition of the Sea Harvest SA Grommet Games have been submitted and I will be drawing up the Heats and Format for the event in the next 48 hours.
Due to the fact that a number of Districts have not submitted full teams we will be completing this year’s event in THREE DAYS. The heats will commence at approximately 8am on THURSDAY March 21st and end with the Finals and Award Ceremony on SATURDAY MARCH 23rd.
The OPENING FUNCTION will be held from 7pm to no later than 9pm at Victoria Park Grey Primary School, Union Road, Walmer. This is the same venue as last year.
Please attend in your team kit as photos will be taken of each team at the function.
An important Team Managers meeting will be held at the conclusion of the formal proceeding and all Team Managers should attend. This is where any team name changes are made.
The Event Director is Shirley Fairall, the Contest Director is Ann Wright and the Head Judge is Lugmaan Bruce. We are not using Liveheats at the Grommet Games.
AT THE SITE
Each team may have a gazebo on the beach as long as there is no conflicting branding on these gazebos. Team managers are requested to ensure that the beach and the contest site is kept clean and free of plastic. With this in mind we would appreciate it if at the end of each day teams could take black bags and do a beach and site clean up. Refuse bags will be provided by SSA and these bags can be left outside the office at the containers to be taken to the dump.
All finalists will receive medals and the winners will be handed a floating trophy for photos. The trophies must be handed back to Shirley Fairall after the photo sessions as they are retained by SSA for safekeeping.
